Our Shows
The Society holds three Shows a year, Spring, Summer & Autumn at St Augustines Church Hall, Johnstone Road, Thorpe Bay (at the junction with Parkanaur Avenue)
Parking is available on the street & the venue is close to bus routes & Thorpe Bay railway station.

All our Shows feature a horticultural side encompassing flowers, fruit & vegetables but over the last few years we have had an increasingly active homecraft section to include cakes, preserves, wine making, embroidery, knitting, photography, painting & drawing, card making etc. We have a Junior Section to attract younger exhibitors.

We also have plants for sale, a bric a brac stall, second hand books & puzzles etc & other displays which are always popular. Our tea room is also very well used for afternoon refreshments. We have an auction at the end of each show so that you can bid for items which have been kindly donated by our exhibitors.

New to Exhibiting?
​
We have members who have been exhibiting with us for many years but we are very keen to encourage new exhibitors.
We are aware that exhibiting can seem a bit daunting the first time. There are ‘Rules & Regulations’ to be followed and these can be found elsewhere on the website. However, you can also get some ideas from the photos of shows & displays from previous years.
You are always welcome to contact the Show Manager or other members of committee for guidance, or just come along to a Show.
Show Fees & Prizes

Admission Fee: Exhibitors, members & children – free
​
Members of the public - £1.00
​
Exhibitor’s Fee: Per exhibit -10p (Late entries 20p)
​
(Fees payable to the Show Secretary with an entry form to be delivered by 8.00pm on Thursday before the Show).
Exhibits must be staged from 8.30 until 10.30 on the morning of the Show. Judging will commence at 10.30.
Prize Money:
All Classes First: £1 Second: 50p Third: 30p

(Prize money not collected from the Show Manager on the day of the Show or within a week will be returned to the society funds)
Trophies & Awards will be made at each Show. See elsewhere on this website or the Handbook for full details.
